Aplicación del modelo de regresión lineal para variables: frecuencia averías y obsolescencia de mecanismos de extrusoras; con propuesta de mejora continua en Migplas S.A.

Abstract:

The objective of this research was to apply the linear regression model to determine the association of variables concerning the frequency of breakdowns and the obsolescence of the extruders mechanisms, with proposal of continuous improvement in plant MIGPLAS SA, for this methods descriptive, deductive and quantitative methods were applied with use of linear regression model, the process diagrams, Ishikawa and Pareto, with which it was determined that the main problem was referred to the machine breakdowns extruders machines No. 3 and No. 4, the malfunctioning extruders resulted in the machinery running inefficiently 72.61% of the time resulting in production shut downs which are causing an economic loss of $44,755.20, additionally, this undermined the effectiveness of this area for the company which is 58 %; and the main cause of this low efficiently level the overuse y obsolete internal mechanisms; the alternative solution chosen for the company is the proposed acquisition of an extrusion machine of German Origen, which it will be possible to increase the productivity of the plant. This would require an initial investment of $46,350.00, which will be recovered in two years, with an internal rate of 68.64% with an NPV of 175,952.49 higher than the initial investment of $46,350.00, indicating economic feasibility.
