Measurement of urban vulnerability from the cadastre: Application to the city of valladolid

Abstract:

One of the most studied consequences of the production of urban space is the appearance of vulnerable spaces in cities. This work, based on a novel exploitation of the information contemplated in the Electronic Office of the Cadastre, proposes the construction and application of a synthetic indicator to measure urban vulnerability at the cadastral parcel scale. To do this, as justified later, it takes the city of Valladolid as a case study. The method is based on the design of a database with housing variables: Age, surface area, cadastral value and construction typology. The results analyze the individualized distribution of these variables, the construction of a synthetic index and an analysis of spatial autocorrelation. This allows approaching spatial vulnerability from a detail scale. The conclusions reveal the efficiency of this type of analysis applied to urban problems, opening up new research topics.
