BIM METHODOLOGY IN SPAIN AND FUTURE PROSPECTS. WORLD BIBLIOMETRIC ANALYSIS ON THE WEB OF SCIENCE (2003-2023). PIMED34_202123

Abstract:

The goal of this paper is twofold. On the one hand, a bibliometric review study is carried out to indicate the current situation of the global BIM (Building Information Modeling) methodology and the position of Spain from the point of view of scientific research. And on the other hand, it aims to show the current level of national implementation of this methodology based on the projects developed in Spain in Civil Works and Building in recent years according to information from the BIM Observatory of the Government of Spain. The bibliometric analysis is supported by data from the Web of Science (WOS) on articles published in JCR indexed journals in the period (2003-2023). The results can be very useful both to researchers when selecting the journals and publishers with the greatest scientific impact and to professionals to have an updated vision of the practical implementation of the BIM methodology in projects in Spain. This work is part of the teaching innovation project funded by the University of Jaén, PIMED34_202123, Project-based Education (EBP/PBL) Project Based Learning applied to Industrial Projects with BIM (Building Information Modeling) Methodology within the Master of Industrial Engineering UJAEN.
