ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL IMPACTS OF THE ENERGY TRANSITION. ENERGY PLANNING IN ANDALUSIA AND COMPLIANCE WITH THE ODS
Abstract:
This study focuses on analyzing the environmental and social effects derived from the energy transition, with a particular emphasis on its implementation in Andalusia's energy planning. The evaluation focuses on determining the degree of compliance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in this context. The research adopts a sustainability-focused approach, seeking to align the objectives of the energy transition in Andalusia with the SDGs and the guidelines of supranational entities. It explores how changes in the energy matrix can affect both the environment and society as a whole. In this way, a series of indicators are defined, including both direct indicators such as energy consumption and demand, or greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, as well as indirect indicators related to various energy, environmental and social variables, and the potential impact of the implementation of energy transition measures in the Andalusian community is determined through them. This comprehensive analysis seeks to provide a complete view of the effects that the energy transition can have on a region, allowing informed and sustainable decision making in energy planning.
