Application of HL7® FHIR for device and health information system interoperability

Abstract:

“Devices on FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources)" (DoF) is a collaborative effort that unites activities underway in HL7, Continua, IHE USA, and IHE International (www.IHE.net, www.IHEUSA.org, www.HL7.org, www.PCHAlliance.org). DoF is intended to ensure semantically consistent device information exchange whether achieved using current IHE Patient Care Devices (IHE-PCD) HL7 Version 2-based messaging or new, emerging IHE-PCD, and Continua integration profiles that embrace the HL7 FHIR-based resources and profiles.
