Gamification and Organizational Justice: A Business Approach
Abstract:
Gamification proposes to create creative and dynamic responses in order for participants to develop their skills and self-learning progressively, in such a way, organizational justice proposes to create fair work environments where employees are rewarded, benefited and motivated within organizations. The purpose of this research is to verify if the use of gamification favors the management of organizational justice through the components of gamification (dynamic, mechanical and aesthetic) which intend to merge with the four-factor model (M4) of Colquitt’s Organizational Justice, these are: Procedural Justice, Distributive Justice, Interpersonal Justice and Informational Justice where important aspects are detailed to create healthy work environments with fair bases. That is why, a questionnaire of 20 questions on Gamification and Organizational Justice was applied, which were validated by expert judgment, Aiken’s V of 0.93 points and Cronbach’s Alpha of 0.86, this was applied to 49 eighth-semester students of Business Administration of the Technical University of Ambato through the digital platform Google Forms, In order to know and make more realistic comparisons in the analyses, it was necessary to have the presence of a pre- and post-test, in addition the data were tabulated by the IBM SPSS statistical program where the Spearman’s Rho of rho = 0.475 was calculated with a significance level of (p-calculated value = 0.001), moderate positive correlation and non-parametric Wilconxon rank test. The study included an experiment simulating characteristics and behaviors of Organizational Justice through playful mechanics in which participants had several activities where they could accumulate points at the end of each challenge with rewards according to their achievements through various tools such as Canva, Piliapp, Genially, Stopots, etc.
