Application of an advanced security methodology in wireless networks

Abstract:

WLAN wireless networks (802.11) have now become an infrastructure very common for households and especially for organizations with the purpose of extending their corporate network resources and services to more users, beyond the reach of a network with cables. What has caused new opportunities for unauthorized persons to try to obtain unauthorized access, obtain sensitive information or partially or definitively cause the unavailability of the service, aided by the peculiarities of the means of transport of data and traffic that circulates through it. To this end, it is proposed to develop a methodology to improve the security process of a WLAN network based on the process of continuous improvement and good practices of the industry, with the aim of glimpsing a chain of security recommendations for the design of networks WLAN and possible implementations.
