Application of cobit model for data management (DS11): The case of a clinical analysis center

Abstract:

A priority axis in the organizational management of clinical analysis centers is the correct use of information technology (IT) and the secure management of data and records. In this work, the COBIT 4.1 model is implemented and the data management process (DS11) is illustrated as a case study. It is implemented in an institution that has been operating without any technological tool in terms of the management of its internal information. Security levels in data administration are determined by applying a survey to a sample of the personnel and, based on it, the level of maturity is calculated and the respective statistical indicators are presented. In this way, corrective actions are proposed and executed to allow to raise these statistics, avoiding information breaches and leaks. This proposal is validated and provides a precedent for future research in Latin America.
