Application of the growth regulator Pectimorf in rapid propagation of Anthurium cubense.

Abstract:

The use of leaf explants from A. cubense with application of growth regulators was investigated for propagation as an alternative to in vitro culture of seeds. The formation of a white callus mass was observed two months after sowing under darkness; after subculture to a medium containing 4.7 µM Pectimorf, a regeneration rate of up to 17 buds per explant was possible. Favourable behaviour of in vitro propagated plants was recorded during the phase of acclimatization, achieving more than 90% plants with a good vegetative vigour.
