Application of the survey on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and quantification of the impact in the ten monitoring points of air quality in the city of San Francisco de Milagro


Abstract:

This article exposes the level of contamination existing in the city of Milagro. Present the results based on determining the influence of atmospheric pollution by sediment particles, particulate matter, sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide and ozone in the City of San Francisco de Milagro and its incidence with the appearance of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) . The survey included 1000 people, between men and women, ranging from 15 to 80 years of age, at each monitoring point of air quality scattered in the City of San Francisco de Milagro. Several statistical techniques were used, such as bivariate analysis and the HJ-Biplot Multivariate method. It is suggested to reduce emissions of PM10 are: control of emissions from fixed and mobile sources, the regularization of industrial boilers, the burning of vegetation caused by conventional agriculture, avoid the burning of garbage.
