Abstract:

This article has been retracted: please see Elsevier Policy on Article Withdrawal (https://www.elsevier.com/locate/withdrawalpolicy). This paper is retracted at the request of the Editor-in-Chief. Following a complaint received regarding the following four papers, an investigation found that the same SEM source image was used to produce the following figures, reported to represent different materials in some cases:TablePaperFigureMaterial[1]https://doi.org/10.1016/j.conbuildmat.2020.120886Fig. 2GGBFS[2]https://doi.org/10.1016/j.conbuildmat.2019.116911Fig. 3GGBFS[3]https://doi.org/10.1016/j.conbuildmat.2020.118991Fig. 3aOPCFig. 3bGGBFS[4]https://doi.org/10.1016/j.conbuildmat.2018.12.161Fig. 6Wollastonite Responses from the corresponding author of [3] acknowledged the duplication of the same image in both Figs. 3a and 3b in [3] and across papers [1]–[4] but provided no explanation. The original image and metadata could not be produced. A response from corresponding author of [4] (and coauthor of all four papers) indicated that incorrect SEM had been inadvertently used in some cases and an offer to provide replacement images was made. The provenance of any of these images could not be assessed. As a result, the editors can no longer have confidence in the content of the papers. All four papers are retracted.
