Archimedean Spiral Antenna in UHF band for Military Applications


Abstract:

Antennas are basic elements within communication systems, getting antennas with adequate directivity and high bandwidth for each application has been a challenge for different research groups. Within that context, the frequency independent antennas have been studied for their good results in terms of bandwidth and directivity.This article presents the design and construction of an Archimedean Spiral Antenna that operates in the UHF band, for military applications, such as electronic warfare (EW), drones detection when they use the ISM bands as communication channel. The main characteristic parameters of the proposed antenna are characterized in the simulation step and measured after its construction.
