Architectural issues in the control of tall multiple-input multiple-output plants
Abstract:
This paper deals with the problem of controlling linear discrete-time tall multiple-input multiple-output plants, using a cascade philosophy approach. The main idea is to use a cascade architecture to regulate a subset of the plant outputs while keeping the rest of them bounded and, additionally, aiming at achieving a satisfactory disturbance compensation and a appreciable degree of modelling error robustness. These ideas assume that the two subsets of outputs have been assigned different importance for the control designer.
