A model based on open data for the creation of a latin American and caribbean space for higher education

Abstract:

The implementation of the European Higher Education Area and the Bologna process generated important changes in European countries, including the implementation of competencies and the threecycle structure, recognition of qualifications and quality assurance of higher education. On the other hand, in Latin America and the Caribbean, despite the initiatives to create common spaces for higher education, they have not been able to materialize. The objective of this research is to contribute to the creation of a common space in Latin America and the Caribbean by promoting the creation of an ecosystem of open data linked using the Semantic Web approach and Linked Open Data technologies. The purpose of this proposal is to design the observatory with the intention of making it available to interested organizations and the general public.
