Asociación entre tiempo de hiponatremia y estancia en UCI de pacientes con enfermedad cerebrovascular.
Abstract:
Introduction: Cerebrovascular disease (CVD) is an entity that provides short-term complications, being hyponatremia on of the most common. Methods: Retrospective, observational and analytical cohort study. The data were extracted from the medical records of the Luis Vernaza Hospital (HLV) during the period from June 2016 to June 2018. Results: A total of 160 patients with hyponatremia and cerebrovascular disease (CVD) admitted to the Intensive Care Unit were included (ICU). Subarachnoid hemorrhage was found as the most common etiology of CVD with hyponatremia (42.7%). The average stay in ICU was 15.11 days. There was an association between the length of stay in the ICU and the time of hyponatremia in patients with intracerebral (p= 0.001) and subarachnoid CVD (p= 0.032). Conclusion: In the present study, it was found that there is an increase in 10 hours of length of stay in ICU for intracerebral hemorrhage and 5.6 hours for subarachnoid hemorrhage for each increase in one day of hyponatremia.
