Assessment of body composition by novice practitioners after a short intensive training session
Abstract:
Novices assessed body fat using skinfold and circumference measurements after minimal training and supervision in the techniques. Data on thirty non-obese individuals who served as both the novice practitioners and subjects were compared to measurements taken by an experienced technician. Results suggested that with minimal training, novice practitioners estimate body fat reliably and with acceptable accuracy in client evaluation situations.
