Assessment of water storage and carbon sequestration in the high Andean moors of the El Ángel Ecological Reserve to evidence the impact of land use change

Abstract:

The study has allowed to verify the impact on the soil of the Moor Park ecological reserve “El Ángel”, checking it through exploration of the wetlands, which are the components that provide water resources for consumption and irrigation, while keeping the balance of the watershed and its capacity of carbon fixation, which relates closely with: low redox activity, the atmosphere with moisture and permanent volume of water resources. It is important that the Management Committee of the reserve conducive to the application of the rule of law and implement technical and technological instruments that allow to remedy the loss of ability water bioregulatory of the Moor.
