Attitudinal profile of innovative leaders: A view from political psychology


Abstract:

The leader as a leading actor that sets the tone in the development of a large part of the political, psychological, social and cultural processes, is presented today as an individual and simultaneously collective phenomenon that serves as a basic explanatory factor of the processes of stagnation or innovation, which occurred in space and time determined; Hence, in recent decades, studies on leadership in various facets and modalities have emerged exponentially, to the point that an interdisciplinary front has been set up in this regard with abundant literature available on the subject. From the perspective of Latin American political psychology and based on a critical approach to thinking, the present study aims to analyze the attitudinal profile of innovative leaders, through the deployment of a documentary design within the framework of a descriptive methodology and, starting from the contributions of Horkheimer, Marcuse and Habermas. Among the results, it stands out that the attitudinal profile of Latin American innovative leaders can be enriched through the combination of critical thinking, critical behavior and dialogical attitude. Concluding that political psychology finds in that aspect inputs to deal with the complex political processes associated with social equity, citizen participation, institutional reinforcement of democratic systems, all from a criticalrational angle.
