Author Response: Clinical Reasoning: A Young Man With Daily Episodes of Altered Awareness

Abstract:

We are grateful for the interest in our published case. As Dr. Shubhakaran mentions, the evaluation of transient alterations in awareness can be challenging. Multiple etiologies need to be considered as part of its differential diagnosis, including syncope. Semiology and physical examination are of paramount importance; they frequently help distinguish between cardiogenic and noncardiogenic causes of syncope. In some rare etiologies, like stretch syncope, a definitive diagnosis may remain elusive despite thorough evaluation.
