Automatización de la adquisición de datos en un banco de pruebas de bombas centrífugas instaladas en serie y paralelo.
Abstract:
This is a research work to create a test bench for the automation of the acquisition of data in centrifugal pumps with serial and parallel installations. It has as its main objective to obtain a reliable, functional and handy bench that allows students to develop knowledge and skills concerning pumping serial and parallel systems whit result charts and graphics of the system curves and pump curves. All these are a function of the total static head of the pumps and the pumped flow. The study starts with the measurement of the flow variations and the suction pressure and pump discharge. These are decisive values for selecting and purchasing pressure transducers and the flow sensor. The acquisition of data is done with DAQ NI USB 6009 card and the LabVIEW software in which some equations were introduced and these rule each sensor after its respective calibration. Different trials have been performed with different valve opening positions in the centrifugal pump outlet, and the physical variables such as pressure and flow are captured by LabVIEW software. This software, at the same time, generates a report in Excel with all the extracted values of the trial. The reports determine that a serial pumping system increases the total pumping static head maintaining a constant flow; besides, a parallel pumping system increases the flow keeping the pumping total static head constant. A decrease of the centrifugal pump performance is evident because of the use time and its maintenance.
