Avances en el estudio de la impulsividad y la regulación emocional en el juego de azar: Investigaciones con muestras española y ecuatoriana

Abstract:

In this framework, the general objective of this thesis is to advance in the understanding of the role of impulsivity and emotional regulation in GD, and the problems derived from it. This contribution is developed in three ways, that constitute the three central chapters of this thesis: a) to extend the validity and clinical relevance of the variables of interest to contexts beyond developed western countries, b) the use of such variables, not cross-sectionally, but longitudinally, to pbkp_redict the results of psychological therapy for GD, and c) the experimental exploration, through behavioral decision-making tasks, of at least part of these variables, which should serve as an interface to connect the behavioral manifestations of gambling and its neurocognitive bases.
