BACTERIA'S FREQUENCY ISOLATED FROM ENVIRONMENT, SURGICAL WOUNDS, VETERINARIANS AND SUPPORT STAFF: INFECTION IN A VETERINARY HOSPITAL
Abstract:
Two hundred samples were collected from the environment from veterinary hospital, from the staff involved in the hospital work and from surgical wounds of dogs for bacteriological analysis. From 275 strains isolated, the Staphylococcus negative coagulases test showed the highest frequency 97 (35.32%), followed by Streptococcus 45 (16.36%), Enterobacter 35 (12.72%) and Micrococcus 29 (9.81%). Bacteria of the genus Staphylococcus which might have had probable source from dogs were most susceptible to antibiotics and chemotherapics than those originated from the human being.
