BURNOUT SYNDROME IN NURSES FROM THE COVID AREA OF A QUITO HOSPITAL
Abstract:
Burnout is considered a work syndrome, characterized by feelings of physical and emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and low personal fulfillment. The objective was to design a strategy to mitigate the development of Burnout Syndrome in the nursing staff working in the COVID area; the research modality was quantitative, with a non-experimental cross-sectional design, and the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) questionnaire was used as an instrument. The sample consisted of 29 nurses. The results show four cases of Burnout in the nursing staff, the emotional exhaustion dimension was represented by 31% being high the depersonalization dimension with 28%, around personal fulfillment. It is expected to improve the nursing professionals' coping with the changing and stressful situations they may face every day in the hospital environment.
