A non-resonant single source augmented integral equation for the scattering problem of homogeneous lossless dielectrics

Abstract:

In this paper we present a new formulation for the scattering of lossless homogeneous dielectrics that has no spurious resonances, is stable in low frequency and has no high-density mesh breakdown. The formulation is based on a single unknown vector function and a single unknown scalar function on the interface of the dielectrics. The scalar unknown is determined by using a redundant boundary condition. The low frequency breakdown and hypersingularity is avoided by means of the additional scalar unknown and the use of a Calderon identity. We will implement the discretization using a high order locally corrected Nyström method.
