Bases para una educación exitosa en provincias con alto porcentaje de pobreza

Abstract:

This article analyzes the pedagogical practices of public schools in the province of Carchi, Ecuador. These institutions obtained the best academic averages on tests «Ser estudiante» (Ineval, 2015), and the population they serve are students living in poverty. The objective of the research is to determine what the factors that explain these results are. The research design was descriptive-analytic with an ethnographic approach, based on classroom observation The results suggest that the teachers used self-regulated learning methods, blending a traditional teaching with child-centered didactics, following a route based on the perception-codification and processing of the most relevant information. An affective relationship between teachers and students was observed as well.
