Bienestar subjetivo en docentes de la Facultad de Psicología en la Universidad de Cuenca
Abstract:
Speaking about subjective well-being involves two personal areas, the affective area, associated with the state of mind, and the cognitive area, which focuses on the satisfaction perceived by the individual regarding his or her own life. Under these two perspectives, the following research has been focused on describing the subjective well-being of the professors at the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Cuenca, according to sociodemographic variables of age, sex, marital status, number of children, type of contract, academic major, number of courses taught and workload. A quantitative approach with non-experimental design and descriptive scope was used. The population was composed of 37 teachers. The instruments used were the Adaptation to the Ecuadorian context of the PERMA Profile (Lima, Peña, Cedillo & Cabrera, 2017) and the sociodemographic record of Rodríguez, Sánchez, Tomas & Salgado (2016) adapted by the authors. The results obtained indicate that there is an adequate level of subjective well-being. In terms of the sociodemographic variables; being female, having a smaller number of children, being Clinical Psychology teachers, being single, having or be pursuing a PhD, perceiving a lower workload, and feeling moderately satisfied with their work situation, favors the perception of a better level of subjective well-being in contrast to other variables
