Biocontability in the conservation of natural tourism resources: Case study of Salinas beach, Ecuador

Abstract:

In this work, an assessment of natural resources through Bio-accountability is proposed. Through the Travel Cost Method, an economic value was obtained through the recreational use of the natural beach of Salinas for an amount of 211,334,877.78 USD. To validate the proposed method, the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) regression model was applied using the econometric software GRETL. The variables that influence the assessment of the Salinas beach were identified: gender, age, educational level, marital status, income, number of people traveling by family, costs or expenses incurred and willingness to pay.
