Body representation in the anterolateral funiculus as reconstructed by percutaneous cordotomies for benign intractable pain

Abstract:

METHODS During percutaneous cordotomies, low-voltage (0.1 V) electrical stimula-tion was delivered via an electrode (100-um tip) insulated to within 3 mm of the tip. The depth of the tip within the spinal cord was measured, and the patient's report as to the body area affected by this stimulation was recorded.
