Building a pipeline of future college engineering students
Abstract:
Arizona State University's (ASU) Office of Minority Engineering Programs (OMEP) is seeking to increase the number of qualified students entering the school's College of Engineering and Applied Sciences (CEAS) by implementing a project that will encourage high school students to take up an engineering course. The project invites underrepresented minority students and their teachers to participate in the Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement (MEAS) program. Students who excel in subjects covered by the program are then encouraged to enroll at ASU after graduating from high school.
