CANCER OF INFECTIOUS ORIGIN AND NUTRITION

Abstract:

It is essential to emphasize the role of nutrition in the treatment of cancer and nutritional therapy to help patients maintain a healthy weight, strength, and reduce the effects of treatment. It is necessary for promote the consumption of fruits and vegetables, according to the literature review, which to prevent cancer. For this chapter, we performed a literature search of PubMed®/ ScienceDirect on March 15, 2019, using the following search items “Infectious diseases and cancer, " “cancer of infectious origin.” The authors (AOM, DM) screened titles and abstracts for relevance. Articles that did not include an abstract or full-text available in English or Spanish and original articles were excluded. The remaining publications that included information on infectious diseases and cancer were analyzed in-depth. After this literature research, sixteen scientific studies were selected and compared according to the WHO statistics in cancer.
