CAPÍTULO 4 ESP FOR TOURISM STUDENTS IN TIMES OF COVID 19 PANDEMIC
Abstract:
This study showed how, under a methodological process and of great patience, perseverance, empathy and dedication, general English students who belong to a Tourism Career in Ecuador improved their English language learning skills, including in the technical English process with specific purposes for the area of tourism during times of pandemic due to the COVID 19 virus. The goal of the research was to improve the approach to learn the English language in university students of the tourism specialty through the use of the language in their professional career. The proposal obtained from the perspective of applied linguistics, develop approaches in the teaching-learning process, containing elements of sociolinguistics, and thus enhance linguistic and pragmatic competences. The research methodology is exploratory, descriptive, explanatory, as well as scientific methods of management and analysis of constant results that the participants reflect according to how they advance and strengthen the English language during five months of study.
