COMMUNICATION OF CULTURAL EXPRESSIONS, CASE TEMAZCAL IN THE CENTRO YOLOLO CHICOMOZTOC TEOCALLI

Abstract:

This research analyzes the variables communication and cultural expressions from an ethnographic approach, under the notion that humankind’s current lifestyle, in addition to the constant changes of times, on the one hand, has allowed the growth of science with the support technology and the rise of social networks, as means of diffusion and extension of the receiving public. The synergy between science and evolution allows us to deepen our understanding of human senses and their ability to process transmitted codes or messages. In this way, an opportunity is presented for the communication of cultural expressions such as the ancestral Temazcal ritual in the Yololo Chicomoztoc Teocalli cultural center in the San Pedro de Chongón commune, a place that silently maintains ancestral practices induced from other cultures and transmits them from generation to generation through conventional media in conjunction with today’s technological adaptations, with social networks such as Instagram. The research raises as objectives the conceptualization of the communication of heritage, identification of the relevant communication media for cultural dissemination, through bibliographic review, direct observation, interview with experts, Temazcal participants and bibliographic review.
