CONCEPTUAL MODEL OF QUALITY MANAGEMENT FROM THE CURRICULAR DESIGN. TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OF BABAHOYO.

Abstract:

The Technical University of Babahoyo requires a systematic process of curricular designs or redesigns that allow it to guarantee the quality of the teaching-educational processes that are carried out in it. The objective of the work is to propose a conceptual model for quality management in this institution from the very conception of curricular designs. The research proposal is based on a theoretical review, with the application of the analysis-synthesis and induction-deduction methods, the necessary elements for the construction of the conceptual model are determined. It is concluded that there are important elements to consider in quality management: social relevance, academic excellence, equity and efficiency. Subsequently, two information collection instruments are carried out, the first to 36 first-level authorities of Ecuadorian universities and, the second, a survey of 100% of the directors of the Technical University of Babahoyo with experience in career designs or redesigns., which provides the enriching practical experience of the proposal that is made. The survey is processed by SPSS version 20.0 software to check the validity and reliability of the instrument used, showing that these values are verified by obtaining a Conbach’s Alpha of 0.844 and R squared of 0.947. Spearman’s test is applied to determine the high correlation (0.9982) between the de-fined quality variables versus the general evaluation of the redesign process. As a result, the conceptual model is proposed to implement quality management.
