CRIMES OF FEMICIDE: COMPREHENSIVE REPARATION FOR CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS
Abstract:
The considerable rate of violence against women in Ecuador generated the inclusion of the figure of Femicide in Ecuadorian legislation with the validity of the Comprehensive Organic Criminal Code. This coercive measure was intended to reduce this type of crime, but it was not enough to solve this social problem. After this infraction, it is necessary to ensure that an adequate comprehensive reparation is given to the minors who survived the crime of femicide, since the loss of their mother makes them the main victims. Within the legal regulations, comprehensive reparation for the victim is established, but it is not effective since adequate treatment is not being given to children and adolescents who are survivors of this crime. This field investigation was developed for this purpose with a descriptive scope, aimed at validating the effectiveness of a strategy that allows an adequate comprehensive repair. The comparison of the results obtained when evaluating the actions of the state against the crime of femicide, in terms of the comprehensive reparation of children and adolescents, was decisive in affirming that through the government bodies there must be a department specialized in the respective treatment and follow-up of the surviving minor victims of femicide, that has the allocation of resources and personnel specialized in their treatment, ensuring that they overcome the damage caused and grow up in an environment full of opportunities and equal rights.
