Calculation of RUSLE C factor in Carache river basin, Trujillo, Venezuela Satellite Images using Miranda VRSS-1

Abstract:

The objective was to calculate the C factor of RUSLE using geotechnologies. A multispectral image of the VRSS-1 satellite was processed with atmospheric and geometric corrections, for the calculation of the normalized vegetation difference index and a supervised classification for land use. A value of factor C was assigned, according to the theory, and the correlation between it and the NDVI was determined. A 5th order polynomial function was obtained with R2.
