Abstract:
Introduction: At present the population is aging at a rapid pace, this increase represents a great change in society and it is a challenge for health personnel to promote a dignified aging and a good quality of life in relation to what the National Plan of Good Living. Objective: To determine the quality of life associated with social resources and autonomy of older adults Cuenca, 2016 Methodology: This is a quantitative observational, cross-sectional, cross-sectional study. The sample is made up of 140 older adults at the Maria Reina de la Paz Gerontological Center. The information will be obtained through the application of the scales: WHOQOL-Bref that values the quality of life, Barthel that evaluates the degree of autonomy and Gijon the social condition; The data obtained will be presented in statistical tables previously tabulated in the statistical program SPSS version 15. Results: Within the framework of quality of life, 60.7% (85) of older adults have a moderate quality of life and 32.1% (45) have a good quality of life, this is due to the fact that 49.3 % (69) of older adults have a good social situation and 36.4% (51) of older adults qualify as independent their degree of autonomy. According to these data, 32% (45) of the study population has a moderate quality of life and is in a good social situation, being considered according to the Pearson Chi-square as statistically significant with a value of p = 0.011 . Conclusion: The quality of life perceived by the majority of older adults is moderate, which is in close relation with the social resources and level of autonomy that each one of them possesses.
