Calidad y nivel de satisfacción en la atención de los pacientes del Centro de Dialilife - Cuenca 2017

Abstract:

Background: chronic kidney disease represents a public health problem worldwide, producing high health costs and negatively affecting the wellbeing of patients. Therefore, it is important to evaluate the quality of health care to allow the implementation of policies that guarantee a better evolution of the disease, and in this way maintain a good adherence to treatment. Objective: To evaluate the quality of care and level of satisfaction in health care received by patients at the Dialilife center - Cuenca. Methodology: a descriptive, cross-sectional study was carried out in 70 patients with chronic renal failure on hemodialysis from the Dialilife hemodialysis center in Cuenca. The whole universe was included, a data collection instrument was applied, it consisted of the de Mira's SERVQHOS questionnaire modified by Rodríguez-González designed to evaluate the quality of care. The tabulation of the data was done in the Excel program and SPSS version 15. Results: Of the total 70 patients studied, 51.4% corresponded to females and 48.6% to males. The most frequent age group was over 65 years with 48.6%. 60% had a primary level of education. 42.9% reported not doing any occupation at present. Hypertension was the most frequent comorbidity with 62.9%. The residence was mainly urban with 65.7%. The quality of care was "much better than expected" in all the evaluated variables, the percentages being lower in relation to the information given by the nurse on body hygiene (64.3%), nutrition (77.1%) and daily activities (70.0%). 77.2% said they were very satisfied with health care. Conclusions: the majority of patients showed high levels of satisfaction with health care, considering the quality of assistance of the staff, facilities and operation of the hemodialysis unit as better than expected. These aspects are favorable to ensure good control of the disease, as well as to increase the quality of life of patients with chronic kidney disease.
