Candida auris: diagnóstico y resistencia

Abstract:

Infections caused by yeast belonging to the genus Candida are classified as candidiasis. ere are 150 species, some are part of the normal human microbiota and 10% are responsible for infections in humans. One of the species that currently generates the greatest health concern is Candida auris, which since its first isolation in 2009 has been spreading rapidly throughout the world. Due to its increasing multi-resistance to traditionally used antifungals, drug combinations in vitro are being studied with the aim of finding new therapeutic tools. However, without correct identification, the search for therapeutic options is useless, therefore, several identification mechanisms have been developed, ranging from the use of biochemical techniques, culture media, mass spectroscopy and molecular techniques.  is review expect that be used as a base for the knowledge, diagnosis and prevention of this emerging pathogen, especially in the current context of the pandemic.
