Caracterización de especies forestales de la granja “San Pablo” de la Facultad de Ciencias Agropecuarias, de la Universidad Técnica de Babahoyo


Abstract:

VIII. SUMMARY This study was conducted in the fields of experimental farm "San Pablo" of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, the Technical University of Babahoyo, which is located at Km 71/2 northwest of the city of Babahoyo - via Montalvo, with geographical coordinates of 790 and 010 west longitude 32`de 49`15 "South latitude and an altitude of 8 meters. The total area of the faculty is 220 hectares. Climatic characteristics of the sector are: average temperature of 26.7 0C; Annual precipitation 1025 mm; Altitude 8 asl; classification of the tropical zone; 83% relative humidity. Soil characteristics are: alluvial soil; pH 6.5; flat topography; clay loam texture. As forest species genetic material found on the farm "San Pablo" of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences were used. The objectives were theoretically argue regarding forest species and to map quantitative and qualitative identification of genera and tree species. Descriptive statistics were performed according to the classification of forest species, determining the percentage of each of the species present and the results were expressed by bar graph. For the development of experimental work parameters delimitation of areas they were made; acquire material support and determine the method of evaluation. The data were evaluated species identification; distribution and quantitation of trees and processing map According to the results it was determined that the existing forest species found in the farm "San Pablo" Faculty of Agricultural Sciences were characterized according to the taxonomic keys and the largest number of forest species was the Boraginaceae family, scientific name alliodora Cordia and name Laurel vulgar with 426 species.
