Caracterización de la intención emprendedora en profesionales de la ciudad de Guayaquil.

Abstract:

The objective of this research is to characterize the factors that influence the intention to undertake of individuals that are part of the economically active population of Guayaquil. The characterization is achieved through the theory of Planned Behavior of Ajzen (1985, 1987, 2002). The instrument used in the present investigation explains the intention to undertake through three constructs: the entrepreneurial attitude, the subjective norms, the entrepreneurial self-efficacy and the perceived controllability. The analysis of the data was carried out using the exploratory factorial analysis and the model of structural equations to verify the hypotheses proposed in the present study. The sample evaluated was 479 people. 54% of the individuals evaluated correspond to university professionals who have reached a third level of university education, followed by 22% of professionals who have a master's or doctorate. Similarly, it was known that 39% of the individuals who participated in the study have relatives with companies and businesses, while the rest reported not having family members with ventures. Among the findings reported in the present study it was possible to demonstrate that the attitude has a positive influence on the entrepreneurial intention. It was also possible to verify th at the subjective norms do not influence the intention to undertake. Finally, it could be shown that self-efficacy influences the intention through the mediation of perceived controllability, which justifies the proposed theoretical model.
