Caracterización de las propiedades mecánicas de la arcilla mediante la implementación de vidrio molido para la elaboración de tejas
Abstract:
The influence of the use of ground glass as an unconventional aggregate in the preparation of the clay-based mixture allowed the elaboration of tiles. This investigation identified the structure, characteristics and mechanical properties of this tile in order to verify the hardness and resistance of the material, thanks to this it will be possible to manufacture tiles with greater resistance to achieve acceptance and demand in the market. As part of the methodology, the glass was processed with a ball mill, a granulometric analysis was developed that allows identifying the best grain to incorporate into the tile and measuring its resistance, comparing a tile made in the La Victoria parish with another that contained a new mixture with percentages of ground glass. The granulometry concludes that by increasing the grinding time a greater fineness of the material is obtained and this avoids non-uniform particle size distributions.
