Caracterización del grado de dispersión en arcillas de la zona Sur-Oeste de la cuenca sedimentaria de Loja, para determinar potencial de generación de procesos de piping.

Abstract:

Identifying the dispersed clays existence has vital importance at time to evaluate geological risks, this clay materials are susceptible to hydraulic flow, and as a result they can generate piping structures; which are responsible of progressive weakness in structure of soil. In this investigation, the analysis of qualification and quantification of the percentage of dispersion by the Crumb test (ASTM 6572) and Double hydrometer test is presented, through them the result was a considerable dispersion of the samples, which represent a palpable danger in the study area.
