Caracterización y evaluación de puzolanas en el cantón Saraguro


Abstract:

The south of Ecuador, it is propose to characterize in differents ways such as chemical, physical and mechanical, the properties of the cementitious material of these sectors, to analyze the pozzolanic activity and evaluate the benefits that it gives to the concrete adding directly the material through the analysis of the compressive strength, finally evaluating the Inferred resource of these material. After that the micro- and macroscopic analysis, discarded random samples, sum as 5 sectors (M1, M6, M7, M9, M14) with potential, Cañicapa M1, Cañicapa M6 and Chacaputo M7 material samples, name to siliceous tuffs ; Yucucapa M9 name to a dacitic rock and Carboncillo M14 name to the weathering of toba lapilli. Finally with a total of 3 test tube of (5 x 10) cm for the samples of each sector, the pozzolanic activity index was determined at 7 days, obtaining that the 5 samples corresponds to pozzolanic material; the two experimental designs proposed, the first to substitute soil for cement and second soil for arid, the best substitution was the combination of pozzolan by cement, obtaining 33 Mpa like resistance in the sample of the sector Chacaputo_M7; In addition, the inferred pozzolanic resource, obtaining 21,070 x 10 ^ 6 Tn in the Carboncillo sector, 5,669,530,922 Tn in the Chacaputo sector, and in Cañicapa 40,129 x 10 ^ 6 Tn of material.
