Características de la artroplastia total de cadera por fractura en el Hospital José Carrasco Arteaga de la ciudad de Cuenca, enero 2012- diciembre 2016


Abstract:

Background: The hip fractures are a very complex and difficult- treatment pathology, they show up most of all in patients of the old age. They have become a frequent indication for the realization of total arthroplasty of hip, several ample retrospective studies; they have shown that this intervention grants a better functional result and less complication as compared with the traditional techniques. Objectives: To determinate the characteristics of total arthroplasty of hip for fracture in the Hospital José Carrasco Arteaga of the city of Cuenca in the period of time understood since January of the 2012 to December of 2016. Methodology: A descriptive retrospective study with 77 patients with total arthroplasty of hip for fracture of the Hospital José Carrasco Arteaga of 2012 to 2016 came true. For this analysis, v19.0 used SPSS itself, being used quantitative and qualitative categorized variables, the ones that showed up through frequencies and percentages. Results: In the study, the feminine sex was the 51.9%, the middle age was 63,48 years (± 17,61 years), and the group of 65 years or more was 54.5%. The 58.4% of patients lived in the rural area. The 9.1% didn´t have any level education. They were attended manly in 2012 and 2013nd (17% and 19% respectly). The cause of the most common injury was the fall of its feet with 55.8%. The 50.6% suffered cervical fracture. The Arthrosis (55,8%) y la HTA (42,9%) more common morbidities. Conclusion: The female sex predominated over the male, the overage age was ≥63 years, the majority live in the rural area and a minority are illiterate. More attention was registered in the years 2012 and 2013. The most common cause was cervical fracture. The hospitalization time was less than a week. Almost all patients had rehabilitation
