Cardiovascular monitoring system using IOMT technology
Abstract:
This article constitutes the development and implementation of a monitoring and control system of the vital signs of patients prone to cardiovascular problems, using the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT), allows obtaining the data by means of a bracelet, which by means of a sensor collects and processes the patient’s heart rate information, to be later sent via Wi-Fi connection to a web application hosted in the cloud, ensuring that the information is always available and accessible, both for the patient and the doctor in real time. In addition, this system guarantees that the patient will maintain constant monitoring by a health professional previously registered in the system, without the need to attend a medical office. Also, this system has can automatically schedule a medical appointment if the patient’s heart rate samples are outside the set threshold. Finally, from the tests carried out with the electronic prototype and a commercial heart rate monitor, measurements were obtained that, when compared, presented an error of less than 1%, that is, that the prototype offers results attached to those obtained by commercial devices.
