Cartography of the tourist attractions in the Portoviejo River estuary biocorridor.


Abstract:

This work consisted of preparing the cartography of tourist attractions of the Portoviejo river estuary biocorridor with the purpose of generating a positive impact on the tourist activities of the communities located within it. The geographic space studied is the mouth of the Portoviejo River in the Pacific Ocean, specifically in the boundaries between the cantons Portoviejo and Sucre, province of Manabí, Ecuador, where communities of the Crucita and Charapotó parishes are located. to carry out the cartography, an analysis of each community was carried out through field visits, which created an inventory of its resources and attractions. Later an ecotourism route was designed to give greater value to the main attractions, which are mostly of a natural area. The elaboration of the tourist maps of each community, as well as the general map of the ecotourism route designed in this work and the map of the access routes to the bio-corridor was made with the help of the ArcGIS 10.2 program. As a result, the cartography designed shows in detail the most important tourist attractions, and according to the opinion of the inhabitants and tourists who come to the sector, it is very helpful to boost local tourism.
