Case study of glazing waste valorisation

Abstract:

This study analyses the problem of the glazing wastes arising in the manufacturing processes of glazed ceramic tiles. First, the glaze losses are calculated and waste valorisation options are identified. A methodology is then developed, based on prior separation in situ of the glazing wastes, for evaluating the technical and economic feasibility of implementing the waste valorisation options in the production of engobes and/or glazes.
