Case study: Strategy for selection and optimization of the artificial lift system in eastern Ecuador

Abstract:

Countries with dependency on the oil rent is imperative to keep its oil production, especially when their fields have been exploited for long periods. This article concerns to the optimization of the artificial lift system optimization of a specific well along its productive life. The methodology proposed to determine the most suitable technique to produce a well chosen from a field in the oriente basin, it got results by means of the determinations of key characteristics of production, through identification and analysis of system's economic and operational factors applied in the well, determining its influence in the production and performance, and in this way optimize its production by selection of the best technique. In this case study, for a well in which two types of artificial lift have been implemented alternately, an analysis strategy has been established which has helped to determine the best system for its exploitation.
