Centro de difusión artística y cultural en Conocoto

Abstract:

Ecuador is a country covered whit invaluable artistic and architectural heritage; rich in culture, influenced by pre - incan, incan and Hispanic legacies, worthy enough to be displayed to the Word. This is the motive for which “the center for Artistic and Cultural Dissemination” that is founded. This is a place where the three major ethnic groups of Ecuador: afro- Ecuadorians, indigenous Ecuadorians, and Half-Caste Ecuadorians interact of the present project takes a closer look at just this, Ecuadorian culture un the design. The fusion of cultures is represented in the interior design as much as the furniture proposal, through form, colors and materials. An environment was created to evoke the cultural richness from each region that can be appreciated in the museum, where we can find examples of historical and cultural based characters, customs, and typical dances of each mentioned groups. Located in the Conocoto district, the San Jose Hacienda was the ideal place to propose the project due to its architectural and historical characteristics. The present job of interior design is being considered in two phases. The firs correspond to the hacienda to ensure it has services like: educational room, museum, and an art gallery; also an administrative area and bathrooms. The second phase consists of the construction of a new building to solve the problem of the lack of sufficient space, where the theater, library and cafeteria. The integral implantation of these two buildings through the design of floors, the same that contributes to using the exterior spaces, creating museums and areas of expression. Each one of these details is formed in the plans, as well as the perspective that provides the graphic idea of the project. In conclusion, the present work narrates in each environment the cultural and artistic history of a country rooted in the identity of what it is to be Ecuadorian
