A tariff system for electric vehicle smart charging to increase renewable energy sources use

Abstract:

Carbon emissions are in the focus of environmental politics. Galapagos is an archipelago of Ecuador, which is considered as a protected area. For this reason, energy resources are changing for avoiding environmental impacts. The aim of this paper is to propose an Electric Vehicle Tariff System in order to increase use o Renewable Energy Sources (RES). The methodology consists of taxing CO2 emissions with a high tariff value for the use of fuel electricity generation. A Smart Charging is also proposed for EV in order to optimize costs. Three scenarios with different ratio of RES are evaluated.
